You have a vast array of materials to choose from when it comes to rigging supplies. Each day, load, machine, and crew is unique, thus requiring a host of possibilities that can be implemented at a moment’s notice. In the overhead lifting and securement space, a variety of ropes, chains, and cordage is necessary to meet the varying demands of complex jobs. Similarly, marine applications and rigging operations involve a constant flow of materials that must be safely and swiftly lifted and transported.
In addition to classic wire rope and chains, braided cordage provides an appealing and flexible alternative for a variety of pulling, stringing, and securement purposes. At Paducah Rigging, we are proud to offer AmSteel-Blue cordage as part of our product catalog; a material that is a staple of hundreds of job sites throughout the country. Here’s how AmSteel rope can make a difference on your rigging or lifting operation.
AmSteel-Blue is A Versatile Tool
AmSteel-Blue is a high-performance single braid of 12-strand cordage, perfect for a wide swath of applications. Made of 100% Dyneema fiber, AmSteel-Blue boasts an impressive strength-to-weight ratio. These properties allow for some exciting possibilities. For example, stringing a line that requires flexibility yet uncompromising strength can be handled easily by a custom-length piece of AmSteel-Blue cordage–the strongest single-braid variety its manufacturer produces.
Wherever more load movement or range of motion is preferred, AmSteel-Blue can function as an effective stand-in for similarly-sized wire rope.
AmSteel-Blue Has Featherweight Strength
AmSteel-Blue’s unique composition allows it to boast the same strength as similarly sized steel rope while also being light enough to float. This is particularly useful if long distances are required in which heavy wire rope might sag, or in marine applications that involve towing or lifting through water.
Available in diameters from 7/64 inch all the way to 6-5/8 inches, there is a lightweight piece of AmSteel-Blue rope that can handle the stress and strain of whatever your project requires.
AmSteel-Blue is Built to Last and Take a Beating
Every piece of AmSteel-Blue cordage is coated in Samthane, which enhances the rope’s already stellar abrasion and cut resistance. It is extremely low flex with superb flex fatigue and wear resistance, making it a prime candidate for various jobs and an appealing alternative to chain or wire rope.
AmSteel-Blue has been verified by ABS according to MEG4, and is type approved by: ABS, BV, DNV, Lloyd’s, and RMRS. This rope is designed for use in split-drum winch applications, but not for applications involving H-bitts, capstans, or cleats.
